Workshops & Demonstrations

The Society provides an ongoing series of workshops and demonstrations of artistic methods and techniques by visiting award winning artists.

The following two workshops and a demonstration are planned for 2022. Bookings are essential and can be made by email to s.ziedas1@bigpond.com or by phoning Pam on 0438 450 519 or Sylvia on 0408 508 855.

For those who are not interested in participating but would like to observe the sessions, you are welcome to come along and watch from our upper gallery.

1. January 8th Saturday: 1pm to 4 pm: Thel Cardwell in Oils.  Thel has won numerous prestigious art awards and commendations including being a two time winner of the “Brighton City Council Art Award”. She is a Past President of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists (3 times), a member of the Pastel Society, the Heidelberg Art Society Past President of Plenty Valley Arts. Thel captures the “light and Shade” of nature in both oils and pastels and enjoys painting all subjects.

2. Linda Finch will have a workshop on Saturday Feb 26th 1 pm to 4pm in Pastel- Cost also $20. Linda is a member and tutor of the Pastel Society of Victoria and her CV and example of her work can be seen at http://www.vicpastel.com.au/linda-finch/

3. Julian Bruere is giving a demonstration in March – date to be finalised Watercolour– Cost also $20.

Julian’s watercolour landscapes are widely acclaimed. Not only are they carefully composed and drawn but their colour choices are well considered and there is the added dimension of texture that brings more interest and excitement to the painting.

After the demo there will be a chance for him to critique any works you bring along – for free.
