Thel has won numerous prestigious art awards and commendations including being a two time winner of the “Brighton City Council Art Award”. She is a Past President of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists (3 times), a member of the Pastel Society, the Heidelberg Art Society Past President of Plenty Valley Arts. Thel captures the “light and Shade” of nature in both oils and pastels and enjoys painting all subjects.

February 26th Saturday: 1 pm to 4 pm: Linda Finch in Pastel;

March 20th : Julian Bruere.  Watercolour.

Gallery Reopening – Classes Restarting

Good news after such a long shutdown.

Painting classes are starting for a 7 week term: on 1st Nov (to 13th Dec) Pastel/Oil: Shirley Straford and 4th Nov (to 16th Dec) Watercolour: John Orlando Birt

The self help group starts on 6th November.

The latest extension to the Victorian lockdown has caused the closure of two events planned for September:

  1. DTAS Spring Art Exhibition to be cancelled.
  2. Ben Winspear’s oil workshop has also been cancelled

Linda Finch Pastel Workshop

Linda Finch is giving a pastel workshop on 23rd October.

10 am to 4pm in Pastel- Cost also $20. Linda is a member and tutor of the Pastel Society of Victoria and her CV and example of her work can be seen at http://www.vicpastel.com.au/linda-finch/

She is also a member of the Warrandyte Arts Group, the Australian Guild of Realist Artists and the Pastel Pallette Group.

Ben Winspear’s workshop rescheduled

Ben Winspear’s workshop will not go ahead due to lockdown on 28th August we have moved the workshop to Sunday 12th September: 10 am till 4 pm.

Ben Winspear – Oil Workshop

Ben Winspear, who previously taught at DTAS before Covid has agreed to hold an oil workshop on Saturday 28th August 2021 from 10 am to 4pm with a break for lunch.

He is an award winning artist (Won the Bale $50,000 Travelling award in 2016)
